GROUP OBEDIENCE CLASSES WILL BE  FORMING FOR THE FALL SESSION.....check below for start dates and times.
 Please join our mailing list and an email will be sent to you announcing the upcoming group sessions.

Private lessons are available upon request

Fall classes  will be  forming. We will have the following classes available. They are Pup/beginner, Basic, and Advanced (see CLASS Page for class descriptions). Classes are offered on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Each class is an hour long and the session will last 8 weeks.

Wednesday class is: PUP/BEGINNER from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
starting September 28, 2011 and go thru ~ November 16, 2011

Friday classes are: BASIC from 6pm to 7pm
ADVANCED from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
starting September 30, 2011 and go thru ~ November 18, 2011
 
Saturday classes are: PUP/BEGINNER from 4:30pm to 5:30pm
BASIC from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
starting 
October 1, 2011 and go thru November 19, 2011


All classes are held outdoors and will run for 8 weeks. If the class is canceled due to rain or other factors, it will be made up the following week.

Proof of vaccinations prior to first class is required.

Pre-registration for each class is required.

Full payment of $100.00 due at registration or before the start of the first class.

Advance class requires an pre-class interview with Debbie, your dog and yourself to see if class is right for you.

We accept new students up to the third class, so if you think you have missed this session, you haven't.

Learn how to teach your dog to do a "SIT STAY".  This is Meeko, an Akita

Learn how to teach your dog to do a "SIT STAY".  This is Meeko, an Akita

Step 1:  Dog is sitting at left side.

Step 2: Gather up the leash and hold in your left hand.

Step 3:  Keeping a tight hold of dog with left hand, use the right hand, palm facing dog and say "STAY"

Step 4:  Keeping your left foot in place, step off with your right foot and step directly in front of your dog. Repeat the word "STAY" Stand directly in front of your dog for a silent count of 5, then return to the dog's right side. If you dog gets up at any point, place them back into the sit position and try again.  This takes time, so don't rush it.

Step 5: When you can stand in front of your dog for a silent count to 30 and your dog does not get up. Next time, repeat the word "STAY" and take one step backwards. Hold this position for a silent count to 5 then return to your dog. Repeat this step until you reach a count of 30 and then take another step backwards. Remember to repeat the command "STAY"
